I don't know much about mod motors either. I don't think there is a difference so that would make the heads interchangeable.

2v and 4v heads will fit on the same blocks.

On 96-01 cobras and mach 1's and they are aluminum, the 2v blocks were iron...they will all interchange over. They will work on the 5.4L block as well.

b/c a 2v blower will not fit it...must convert to a 4v blower which gets really tricky.

If you look at what people like modular powerhouse is getting out of the 2v....it isnt worth the hassle to swap. Big Blower + race port + built motor...gobs of power

People have done it, and other people are doing it. This is one of my favorites

This is a 50 page thread about the build up of the truck

http://www.nloc.net/vbforum/gen-2-li...ommentary.html

At the end the original owner ends up selling it.

The red truck was very nice. Im sure the turbos helped with this to but the 4 valve heads did what I thought they would. witch is help it pull up top. I like bottom end torque. but nothing fells better than top end pull.

the 4v heads are nice, but a good quality port job on PI 2v heads like on 99+ mustangs and lightnings and they will do much much better then a 4v head.

The 4v's are awesome...but the new 3v's are a bit better, wish I could afford one

Johnny "Lightning" Wiker is pushing over 1000 HP and running mid 8's with 2V heads.

Find a set of SVO heads, send them to Jason Steeno be worked, and you will have the baddest 2v heads out there. Only down fall to you L guys is since the SVO's have the NPI sized chamber you would loose .8 or so compression. but nothing a few more pounds of boost would not cure

Or some slight shaving of the head while it's at the machine shop anyway.

I would like to know what kind of wheels are on that red truck. It's really hard to find after market wheels for a L. I know what you guys are saying about ported 2v heads. I understand they can make more power. thats not what im looking at. its more about the rpm range and the way it pulls harder the higher you turn it. its not about drag racing. its just about the way it feels. I drove a 4 valve cobra when they first come out and I loved the way it felt.

in my not so educated opinion, I would attribute what you felt in th cobra to the how much air the 4v heads will flow and the shorter runners(compred to a 2v intake) on the 4v intake. I am sure the cam profile has alot to do it with as well. If you look at the 4vs from the Mach 1 and the Cobra, the Mach has more low end and the Cobra is stronger up top. I think it is only a cam change I think the Mach shares either one of the cams with the aviator(I am guessing exhaust, i'm sure someone can correct me if I am wrong)
