Default A buddy of mine needs some stuff.

A buddy of mine has a 2000 trans am WS6. Right side headlight door stopped working. It isn't the plastic gear because it doesn't flip the doors and make the grinding noise. Detached connector and unplugged it. There was so much corrosion inside the connector that one of the male pins (headlight motor side) either broke off or was already broken in two. Anyone have a line on a place to buy the pins themselves or new connectors as pigtails. The guy is kinda anal about his car and not too crazy about the winking look. Anyone have a price and availability.

He found a set online new I believe ac delco, but he said they are like 30 bucks each. Will probably be cleaning and repinning his existing connectors.

You can get any repair harness kit for any connector on the car from GM, fairly cheap. I did it for several on my LT1 car back in the day. Come with pinned weather pack connectors and solder-heat shrink connectors. Just gotta find a GM parts guy willing to do some digging through the wire repair harness catalog.

Yeah I have had to build up the weather pack connectors a lot. I have had to get the pins before from o'reillys after a guy that was "helping" me install his stuff. He used male pins on both sides. I of course ragged him about that is how he rolls. It looks in this situation that buying the pins will be the least expensive good fix. Although I also told this guy how enough water got into this connector to corrode things like this is something he might want to address.
