i have a procharger with intercooler on my gto. since the summer started my fans run all the time at stop lights. i had ls1 performance put it on the computer and the temp was 200 at idle. i have dexacool crap in the car and was wondering if it is gumming up the radiator or water pump? you think i should get it flushed out or replace the water pump. how can i tell?

I'd try to flush it first. The water pump shouldn't have gone yet. Hell....I have 119,000 on mine and it's still going strong. You can't have anywhere near that.

You may try straight water and water wetter. I haven't had any problems since I switched.

I switched to Distilled water and Water Wetter and my temps dropped about 15 degrees. I would flush it and switch to that...

Cool

What is the ratio your all using on the Distilled water/ WaterWetter for the engine ? I am running 50/50 H2O+WW in the intercooler ....

Oh, right now, on the engine side, its just one bottle of WW in the orange Kewl-Aid ...

Fill with water and add 1 bottle of Water Wetter. At least that's how we did the circle track and road race cars. Never had a problem. The big thing, though, is not to forget to drain the water before winter hits. I know it doesn't get that cold around here, but all it takes is one cracked block...

Your nearest grocery store, right next to the gallons of "drinking water".

if you do decide to put water/waterwetter in it make sure ALL the dexcool is out of it first.

Flush that gm DEXCOOL crap out of there. Both of my gm's run around 190-210 at idle. But moving down the highway it does drop to either 185 or the 195.

I doubt your water pump is going out. But if so. time to go electric right?

My wp went out on the red s10 at about 112k miles. My signs were it was slowly leaking from the weep hole and of course not holding water/coolant.
