Default Sent some lead down range.

I love to shoot. Do not consider myself a good shot by any means. These pictures are the 1st - 3rd time I have ever been to a range to shoot targets. I grew up on a farm with plenty of cans, trees, and crap to shoot at.

Anyways..Here are a few targets from the last few times I have been to the range with my FIL.

.357 Ruger Blackhawk

Some of these you can see marked 1 and 2.
1=15 yards
2=20 yards

M-1 30 Carbine (All @ 25 yards on 50 yard sight)

First time ever shooting a muzzle loader
25 yards. .50 cal Custom Halken w/ Douglas barrel, Iron sights. ( nice group)

Second time shooting Muzzleloader ( nice group, same as above )

Same Muzzle loader w / .50 Sabot

Best group with the Glock 30. I need to work on trigger pull with this one. Its REALLY hard IMO and I need to lighten it up. I feel like I am pulling it quite a bit.

Awesome, cant wait to get back and go do some shooting with some of the guys I use to shoot with there. I became my ships Small Arms Instructor a few years ago so I have come to shoot pretty decent. There was also those years in the Army before I joined the Navy that I shot ALOT. It is great fun to say the least. So far I own a Cavalry Arms AR-15, Glock 9mm with some mods and a Remington 870 Police Magnum. Look forward to getting off this deployment so I can shoot them again. Should be in town come Mar 2011 if you wanna hit up a range. -Shane

I would like to find some place around Charleston to shoot for cheap. I come down there a few times a week and would like to shoot some when I am not with my FIL. I need to get better with my Glock, so he can see how much I am improving.

Yeap. We are going to have to join there. We ran out of the trial visitor visits last weekend. 200 the first year, and 150 each year after.. Not a bad deal for the setup they have.

You can make your Glock trigger better if you get one of the 3.5 lb trigger connectors. They are a drop in part with no fitting required. Just do a search for Glock trigger connector and you will find a few manufacturers that sell them for around $15.

Speaking of ATP gunshop, if you guys really want to have some fun, check out their pistol combat shoots. They have them on the 1st, 3rd, and 5th Wednesdays of every month from 5:30 to 7:00PM. You get to shoot a 30 round course while on the move doing your reloading as necessary up against the clock. It only costs $7 plus 30 rounds of ammo. Just make sure you have enough loaded magazines to shoot the 30 round course without running out. You typically get to shoot from behind cover, and while kneeling sometimes too. Your score is made up of how many points you score on target divided by your time in seconds to run the 30 shots.

Shooting like this on the move against the clock will definitely let you know if your gun is 100 percent reliable in your hands. I have seen plenty of guns that shoot dead reliable in a relaxed setting when shooting leisurely from a booth suddenly have issues when run under stressful conditions.

I have 10 times more fun shooting 30 rounds like this versus blowing 100 rounds from one spot into one target. Not only do you get to see how reliable your gun truly is, you get a measurement of your accuracy and speed under stress.

ATPs range is A/C and heated, too.
