The past two saturdays you just have to fill out your tech card and take back to the lady who gave it to you. Now i don't know if it is like that every time.

Well, here is the funny thing. I called Gerald and he came over to listen to the trans when I pulled it off of the traler. Guess what, no noise. Damit. Even took him for a ride while I flogged it. Still no noise. Going to drop the pan and see if there is anything to tell if there is anything to worry about.

I didnt do anything but fill out my card and give it back, but you can also see my cage through the glass. Just go up one saturday and give it a shot. I think I over heard Bill at Darlington telling Will, that they are not going to reopen til Janruary, so check before you make the trip..

Typically IHRA rules apply. 11.49 for fixed roof and I think, like Carolina, they will allow 11.00 with stock floor pan before a bar is needed. They tend to be more relaxed during test and tune unless you are WAY under the safety cutoff from what I have noticed.

If they throw out the rule book, floor pans have nothing to do with it. Its 7.49 or faster 1/8th mile, and 11.49 quarter mile, also drive shaft loop, jacket, 6 point harness, ect for the above times or faster. Jeff Hines got booted at Jackson in the green car, so they are a little more strict then Darlington..

That's why I didn't get kicked out at Jackson. Couldn't get in the 9's.

How fast are you expecting to go? If you have a roll bar, helmet, long pants, jacket, blah blah. You will be ok to at least get one hit off.

If you go up there rump-u-lumping, open header, purging 300 smack threw motor, with nothing but a smile and sunglasses, they going to say something

Oh, don't put a whole bunch of faith in the DS, exhaust battle............

Bob,

Everyone is right with the rules as far as safety equipment is concerned. Go ahead and get you a harness. They will work with the stock seats. I did talk to Bill @ Darlington, and this past Saturday was it for the year. They will re-open on the 8th of Jan. weather permitting. They are a little more relaxed this time of year on tech on the t&t days. As the crowd starts to build again, tech will tighten up. Darryl I think has a rule book and can answer questions. Carolina is strict all the time. They busted me last year when I went 11.30's on the 302 with no harness. They put me right on the trailer for the day.

Nobody said anything to me. I told the girl I gave the card to I had a FULL cage, joking of course, maybe she believed me? I planned on putting in a 6-point roll bar in for being under 11.5, but im not putting in a cage for over 135mph.

I also see a difference between a car rolling off a trailer and a car that drives there, test and tune racing by myself.

I understand your reasons for "not wanting a cage" all well and good. Very sweet car btw best of luck to you with it .

But please give thought to the above....speed is what kills, not the time it took to hit the object.
