Brief race recap from Sunday's Memorial Day Mayhem. In the Outlaw Top Dragster class there was 9 cars. All of them was really fast, but at the end of the day the fastest pass and #1 qualifier was held by a young lady named Melissa Hutson with a 3.85 @ 184 mph. Fast Freddie was 2nd with a 3.87. In the 4.70 Heads-up class there was 10 cars, Dell Swinton from North Carolina in his beautifull 2012 Camaro took out a Natural Aspirated Lumina in the finals to earn the 4.70 class winner title. Last but not least, in the 28" tire class there was 8 cars. This class was very interesting and provided some good heads-up action and a few upsets. The race featured some real stout cars including, Tim Huddleson from Charlotte, Dell Harwell, Badbob, Grays Construction, Mark King, Bones, a NT S-10 and Jimmy. In the end the finals saw Badbob Mustang going up against Grays Regal. At the flash of the green lights both cars bailed out the gates, but about 100' foot out Bob's car broke loose and Gray strolled on for the win. Good race guy's. I really think the turning point in the race was when there was antifreeze spilled in the left lane, that changed the entire dynamics of the race, especially with the faster cars. Overall everyone was safe, and put on a good show. We will have another shootout this sunday if there is enough interest.
