i like to pick on the 225 outboard center console boats myself.. some bass boats boogie as well.. i wont touch a 4stroke 350 outboard on a 22ft boat. no less a bb powered boat. in all honesty i can barley hang with a stock rxpx with my seadoo xp limited. the 4 stroke supercharged vs my 2 stroke 951 motor.. i have a few mods and can hit 70mph but even 60 on my ski feels stupid fast my ski is small the rxpx have size and are more stable at those speeds.

im proped/nozzled for the hole shot.. me getting to 50 is quick me getting to 60 requires ideal conditions.. i am building my ski to run with the 4 stroke supercharged ski's.. power to weight i have one of the lightest race skis from factory (and ive removed weight) but im only a 2 stroke 951. i wouldnt hold a chance against him from a 30 roll even in the 1/4 thats already half my max speed.

the baja hammers with the 496 with modds hits 81-82 and 86 on glass water. gps varafied the stock 454 baja is rated at 67-70mph with the optional 468 (factory built with supporting mods) will hit 80 but those boats walk because of how short they are.. trim tabs become your best friend but will poropse with anything in the 2/3ft chop range which becomes crazyyyyy and scarry to say the least. for people shooting for 60+ in the baja they offer a hydrolic steering which is 2,500 and anyone who plays/races them says its a requirement.. unless you plan on using your life insurance policy.

My uncle down near Lake Okeechobee has/had a bass boat with a 2.5 merc and a hot foot with one way power steering on it and that was a fun boat to drive.
