It does sound good based on the video you posted somewhere.....it sounds much better than it looks. But, in your cars defense, I hate anything with lots of bubbly glass and huge ass wings.

I'm not big on all the glass, but thats the way it was made, cant do much about it. At least there are no blind spots. The wing is part of the Cosworth look. Once the car is painted, it will probably look much better. With the multicolor, it looks out of place right now. Heres a buddy of mines car, and with it all one color, with the exception on the carbon fiber hood, it looks like it belongs:

///MCompact is code for my old BMW 330ti. ///M (M3 engine) swapped Compact (318ti)...hence ///Mcompact. There are probably less than 30-40 swaps like that in the states, so I'd wager that you'd likely see 2-3 Merkurs before a 330/332ti. Even without the swap, the hatchback bimmers (of all years) are rare.



But it doesn't matter because neither your Merkur, nor my old car were special. We are not talking about a Porsche 959 or a Ferrari F40 here.

And just for shits and giggles, my present car (Evo VIII MR) is kinda rare for a factory produced car. Only 1000 brought to the states (around 300 in my color). How many Merkurs were brought over?

Do I know about XR4Tis? Yes. I'm not ignorant to the car and even know a bit about Coworth. I know enough to understand that your 8-valve engine doesn't share shit with the Cosworth 16-valve engine that came in the Sierras.

What I, and others, had a problem with was how you handled the typical new guy jabs that were thrown at you. You had high expectations that we would just trip all over ourselves in posting attaboys, kudos and Wowzers at your import on a predominately Domestic biased forum. Once the first jab came at you (and it was a good one!!!lol), you went defensive and claimed we were all ignorant, didn't "know" anything about your car, etc.

If I posted up about my 330ti or Evo VIII MR on a forum outside of bimmerforums or evom.net......especially on a predominately drag race forum (let's face it..80% of import owners rice..not race), then I would expect some catshit being thrown my way until I fit in.

In short...keep your head up. If it was that easy to be "in" around here, this place wouldn't be worth a shit to be involved in. This isn't a "HI..all cars and people are welcome!!!!" kind of forum. If I wanted to be a member of a forum that accepted all kinds and was politically correct at all times, I would have joined some Gay/Lesbian forum. Say...how is SCGearHeads doing?

I'm familiar with the 318Ti. My buddy has one that has been talking about this same swap. I was looking for a 318IS until I got my 93 SHO.

Honestly, I don't. The front is alright, but the rear looks awful....but that's just my opinion and doesn't mean shit. As I've said before and will surely say again, to each their own. If you like it rock it, fat girls need love too...
