I am either eyeing 4.30 or 4.56. Probably a 4.56 gear though. Thinking of getting a progressive controller though. Or (if the moons align and everything is setup and worth a shit) I will just HOLD ON for the ride.

Thats a lot of gear for that thing. We have a 4.56 in the chevelle. But it turns 7,000 rpm has a powerglide and a overdrive. And it really doesnt need it. It had a 4.11 in it and I had to change the gears. I had just put the powerglide in so I thought it would run better with a 4.56. It ran the same thing. Did not pick up at all. If you have a 350 trans I think a 3.73 or a 4.11 at the most would be better. If you plan on running Nitrous It really doesnt need it. Just my 2 cents.

Well, here is the thing. Going 9". 4.56 is for 1/8th mile. Currently have a 700rpos but mostly going to go 350 here soon (with new internals built to our specs etc). Motor can safely turn over 6k, but with my 28's on it now we might do the 4.11. But I have been thinking of 31's and other items for the rear. But we shall see. I have to lay it all out with the "build price" of everything first.

Is it going to be a track only truck? The gearvendor went out in the car once and damn was that a long ride home. Either way I really dont think you will gain anything with a 4.56. But its your truck. You do what makes you happy.

Wade. My truck sees about much street use as your truck.........j/k But seriously. I hardly drive the truck on the street. Mainly to my parents house to tinker with it and that is it. I still have the same gas in the truck from a month ago.
