i was wondering if anyone out there mite be able to help me out. I have a 355 chevy with about 10:1 pistons, iron eagle heads, lunati .507/.507 lift cam, harland sharp 1.6 roller rockers, edelbrock aluminum intake, and 750 holley. with these rockers i have about .541 lift on my valves. Would that be to much lift for my application? should i switch back to 1.5? or run 1.5 on the intakes and 1.6 on exhaust?
BTW i have a th350 trans and 3.55 gears. i know the gears are holding back some but im only running 9.40's 1/8th Last edited by EdistoMatt; 02-22-2009 at 09:28 PM. |

There's a lot of info you left out. What is the 60' time? What is the mph? Vacuum secondary or double pumper carb? What stall converter? High duration cam? If it's in that truck, it's probably heavy and without a power adder, it might need more gear to get the load moving. There are many smarter people with this stuf than me, but I've had a few SBC cars and trucks and missed the combo before. |

Hey Whaler.. sorry i didnt put that stuff in. The mph in the 1/8th is about 75 mph and it is a double pumper carb. its a 2500 stall converter. the duration on the cam is 274 i believe. It was what lunati recommended from their tech. They didnt know i was going with 1.6 rockers tho. and yes it is in the truck. I appreciate all the help!
the cam is 235 dration at 0.05 Last edited by EdistoMatt; 02-23-2009 at 12:02 AM. |

Cam duration is going to matter a lot with that. My guess with that lift is about a 235 to 245 at .05. If Im right thats not nearly enough stall. But you have some other issues. The MPH is low as well. Getting the timming and jetting right can make a big difference. More gear would help to. A 350 is just to small for something that heavy running on motor alone. You would be happier with something built more for torque. A 400 with vortec heads and a 220 cam. Now thats fun.
