Default Well we got the TVS on!!! Update PICS

Sorry no pics yet b/c it hurt to get out of bed right now. Yesterday was the hardest and longest I have worked in a looooong time.

First of all I want to say Thank You to Randy. Without your help I could have never got this done. It friends like you that makes me glad Im part of Carolina Horsepower.

After about 14 hr of work Randy and I got the TVS on yesterday. We got done at about 3:30 this morning. We had a few problems along the way. My original U bolts wouldnt come off so Randy had to get them off with his trusty grinder. The bolt that lines up the leaf spring to the pearch on the axle was too lage to fit in the hole so you guessed it the trusty grinder had to come out again to fix that as well. One of the pins on my Cal-Traks broke so Randy and I had to go bak to my house to get a bolt that I had bought for it when I first instaled the T-bars. That was after we got hasseled by one of Goose Creeks finest. Im sure there is more but thats all I cant think of right now.

All in all the truck looks great. I really didnt expect it to take us that long. I think after we get done healing from this one Randy's wife is going to kill him or me b/c I think he wants a TVS now also.

Lastly Mike when ever you get a chance I think we need to meet up at that church again with your super duper camera of yours to take some comparison pics. Stock vs. 2in shackles vs TVS + 1 in shakles.

Four words P.I.T.A! It looked great Chris I'm jealous just pure sexyness on the stance. As far as a quality drop for a Lightning goes that system is awesome. I just hope I never have to do it again with a set of Cal-Tracs traction bars LOL

I asked the same question at lunch today. Will it make your L handle better on the road or is it more for the stright line application?

Due to the larger diameter swaybars, the lower stance, the stiffer springs and leaf rates and the nitto's instead of the F1's it should handle much better in the twisties. Although I havent had much seat time in it yet to confirm these claims but so far it feels way better.

Bill you can keep the drop you have an just add on some after market swaybars and achieve the same thing

Not much if any. The sway bars are beafier but the springs where shorter which saves weight, and the leaf only had two stiff leafs instead of 4-5 less stiff leaf. That took off some weight also due to the lack of overall material. Also I can tell you this much one of the stock leafs wieghs as much as two of the hotckis leafs.

I bought it used off of a member on NLOC. He said it only had about 6K miles on it and I got it for less than half price.

It is hard to see at the angle you took. If it is lower than it has to be better.

I won't be able to make it tonight Chris. I guess we can try again tomorrow.

If you go tell Daryl I'll have my cell on if he wants to spread some more of his B.S.
