So I was trying to remove a bolt that broke off in the top of my blower awhile back and noticed that the bracket it was supposed to be holding on was just a rats nest of garbage. Vac lines and wires everywhere, just plain messy. A good bit of it is for the EGR and Boost Bypass. Not wanting to get rid of either I started searching and found others shared my pain. So I'm in the process right now of relocating all these things to the cavity below the cowl area (under windsheild wipers) so they are still functional but out of sight. So far it's pretty easy, just tracing back where these vac lines and wires go to make sure I don't cross them. Now that I'm halfway through I've found some weight savings along the way. I never realized those wipers were so damn heavy!!!! I never use them so off the car they go, 5lbs easy. The brackets and a good bit of the heat wrap that is no longer necessary are now gone. I'm taking random pics along the way I'll post these up once I'm done. Wish me luck I don't mess up any of these wires while cutting and extending them....

Sounds good Kevin ! I always hated all the vac lines under the hood of the cobra they don't look right . You have to post pictures when it's done ! And yes the wiper motors are quite heavy they surprise alot of people when they take them out .

Well the car hasn't seen rain in years so it's not really a concern for me. Plus if the jeep ever goes down and I need them they can go back on in 30 seconds. I extended all the wires last night, now I just need to crimp them back to the wiring on the car and tape them all up.

I actually started to remove the wiper motor seeing how bulky it was but the arms underneath looking like a PIA!! So it stayed on the car. Everything is done and now nice and tidy under the hood. I'll take some pics tomorrow of the finished product.....

Ok so I finally got around to taking those pics. As you can see I've already replaced my coil covers also, I really like the way they turned out. The bad news is I don't think trying to do touch up on the blower is going to turn out the way I want it to, so I may have to pull it back off and repaint it. But we'll see......anyway here they are....
Full shot.... ![]() No more bracket... ![]() ![]() ![]() Where everything went to..... ![]() ![]() And.......while I was out there I snapped this....

I know it's always bothered me how messy it is under the hood of these cars. There's still a ton of wiring and lines that drive me crazy, but those were the biggest eye sore I think....
