I don't think you will see a difference performance wise, but will probably get a cleaner sound. Give it a try and let us know how it turns out.

I will take the flowcrappers off and replace them in the near future though (looking at hooker maxflows mainly) and go from there. I would like an H or X only if it will net some gains or mpg. lol |

Why does everyone hate Flowmasters? I had them on 3 performance cars with small block Chevrolet's. I always thought that 5.0 Mustangs sounded awesome with them. Yes, the 2 chamber ones had a drone but sounded good.

Personally, I think they are a waste of muffler. Reason why I believe everyone uses the dang things is because that is the number 1 muffler that muffler shops push, all the "advertising" they have. GO to a muffler shop and ask them what is better flowmaster or magnaflow? They 98% of the time will say
FLOWMASTER! Get real. Over hyped pos in my opinion

Plus, everybody and their brother put flowmasters on everything. Not uncommon for a mustang NOT to have them. Especially foxes.

Huh....
I hate the sound of my Magnaflows or I guess they are Magnapacks. I only have them because they were supposed to be one of the best flowing pre-made choices for my truck. I'd change them for something in a heartbeat if they would sound like my old Flows. I guess I'm out of touch these days. |

Here is a good reason why Flowmasters are not so good.... air flow!
Flow chart 40 series: http://www.dynomax.com/products/images/floss_chart.jpg Dynomax ultrafow X : http://www.dynomax.com/products/imag...ox/x_chart.jpg Flow chart 50 series: http://www.dynomax.com/products/imag...weld_chart.jpg I had the Dynomax Ultrafow Welded series on my 02 Gt. Sound and performance was pretty good IMO. Dynomax is a pretty good muffler and their inexspensive too. I beleive Autozone and advanced sell them too. I beleive when fabbing up the H or X pipe you need to find the "HOT" spot in the exhaust and thats where you make the connection. Last edited by Illusions; 07-24-2008 at 08:48 AM. |

What's the CFM for the Flowmaster Series 10? I've been unsuccessful at finding any test results for this muffler. Flowmaster doesn't even publish it online. Plus none of the above dynomax mufflers were race mufflers like the series 10 are. The dynomax race series is a different muffler all together and carries a 2600 cfm rating while maintaining the 95db sound rating for NHRA. Is there anything out there that flows better? IF there is I'd like to know more about them.

Are you kidding me? Mufflers we are talking about mufflers, mufflers. Not racing but mufflers. What's next "my car made 1.123 more HP with Xflows that it made with FlowXes. I just have the Summit brand. They sound great and seem to flow as good as any.

you ever heard the clip where Allen Iverson keeps saying "practice" in a press conference? That's what that reminded me of. |
