Yeah, hell of a learning curve, wasn't it? It's easy to laugh at others until it happens to YOU!

Usually, when a driveshaft breaks, the driveshaft isn't the only thing you have to replace. I have seen them break extension housings, transmission output shafts, transmission cases, bellhousings, and various transmission internals. And that was WITH a safety loop. The loop just keeps the driveshaft away from the driver, that's all. Pure safety.

I agree with that! I have seen needle bearings all over the shop floor on two occasions. Not to mention the "trophy" pieces that were in the office...
