I believe the Mafia could take over Chicago and run the place with more morals than the current crop of politicians.

Just recently in Maryland, IIRC, there was some high level court that made a ruling that videotaping law enforcement was a legal act.

I know cops take an oath to uphold the "law", but a lot of discretion is left up to the individual cop as to what degree needless laws are enforced. I am referring to laws for acts that don't endanger or interfere with other citizens' well being or freedoms.

There are enough frivolous laws on the books to where all of us can be deemed criminals at the simple whim of an out of control police state. Deeming the videotaping of police illegal where they are already in public view smacks of a police state mentality. It's all about population control and so called "public servants" using the power of the state to serve themselves rather than the people. We could only hope that enough cops side with the people for a common sense order of society vs. siding with the police state laws that politicians and their jackboot thugs apply to us but exempt themselves from.

They do. Too often police, as a whole, are painted with a broad brush. Believe it or not, we don't like "those" cops as much as the next guy. Also, in some cases, discretion is not as easy as it is defined. Sometimes, the call is above that officer's pay grade.

Go to Youtube, and watch video's posted by user "Normwicks", if you want to see unessesary officer harassment over stupid things such as municipal codes, which are not even state laws! This guy has hundreds of video's where he outright tells the cops how it is, and how it's gonna be, and it's all caught on camera. In several of the videos, you can see the officer tell him to put the camera away, and he refuses, and tells the officer that he shouldn't have anything to hide from the camera.

Nick (Csikx) we are not bashing on police per se, because they only uphold the laws that are passed. It is the politicians in Illinois that are out of control!

Here is an example, albeit maybe a poorly explained one and maybe Gerald can expound on it; look at the difference in the laws for law-biding citizens having/carrying a weapon for Texas vs. Illinois. My statement about "Guns, what do you need a gun for, that's what cops are for?" was a statement made by several politicians in the house who are Anti-gun, not cops themselves, so please don't think I meant that.

that man and his son have some serious mental issues. Paranoid Schizophrenic comes to mind watching these. the man and his son cause their own trouble in the videos then wonder why they are being mistreated. I bet the son is sitting there with w foil hat on too.
