A friend has a 92 mustang 5.0. I need a computer for test purposes. Prefer untuned. Need to verify if his is bad. And does anybody have the stock fuel injectors also? He also may have a sticking injector. please let me know

I've got 2 sets of stock 19 lb injectors. One set from a 91 351W that I know nothing about and one set from a 97 Explorer motor that I know worked great. The Explorer ones are the pencil type.
You can have either set you want for $0.00, only thing is I won't be in the Charleston Area until Friday evening or Saturday. Nathan

Hal what is it doing?
Most of the time I see these computers go bad it doesn't send the 5v reference so you get a no start. If that's what you're thinking just put the dvom on the tps for a quick test. |

Tps voltage checks fine. Here is the deal, fuel pressure is great. It will run good sometimes. Next time it will start but act like it is flooded and you smell fuel. Another sign if you leave key on to prime the pump it will have the pump stay running constantly and never shut off.

no fuel pressure gauge to check bleed down?
good chance its an injector sticking open, flooding the cylinder before it can crank. |

That is why i have it narrowed down to injectors or pcm. I have not hooked gauge up yet. New regulator and other misc has been added and does same thing. I personally think injector, but pcm would do same thing with fuel pump.

yeah pcm relay or probably ignition switch could cause the pump to run constant. Is it key on constant or all the time non stop? If it runs non stop you can rule out injector because the oil would be full of fuel in no time.
I'll see if any of my buddies have spare pcm or injectors. |

hal, my 87 saleen i used to have did the same thing and left me stranded, couple injectors were permently stuck open so i'd prime the system and then watch my fuel pressure fall off on the gauge. I loosened the fuel rails and pulled the whole assembly up with injectors on them and then reprimed the system to see w hich ones were stuck open...swapped those out and never had another problem. I think* I have a similar problem in my '94 now lol
if its having a hard time starting and you suspect a flood, you can push the gas pedal all the way down before you try to start it and the computer will turn off the injectors so you do not put anymore fuel down in the cylinders
