$500 to have the frame straightened if it needs it, $100 just to have it checked, that seems excessive for a 4cyl car that is not worth much more than $500 IMO.
I have lost motivation for this car, plus no free time now, kids are starting football today so any work that I could do would take me probably 12mths to finish, ie swapping over to a new car....full time job plus a side job and the family, leaves no time at all. SO, I am looking at possibly selling the parts needed for the LS swap, if someone want everything and wanted to do the work I could make them a sweet offer. heck, we can even talk about just taking the whole car and me not touching it. I do plan on keeping at least the motor unless someone wants to pay me for what I have in it ($4200), otherwise I am going to keep and put in my C10 eventually. These parts vary in useage, some are brand fucking new and some have less than 200 miles, some i bought used. (deisgnated by how I bought them) AJE K-member (new) CC plates (used) spring perches (not needed if you have coil overs but they are here) (New) Dynatech Headers (new) O2 bungs on the outside Exhaust-full 3" with X pipe and O2 bung in line (new) Tailpipes (flowmaster used) UMI Rear suspension (NEW-uppers are on car and have 2.5 passes on them) this includes UCAs and LCAs, plus the torq box plates 8.8 Rear (used) TA Cover (new) 31 spline diff (used) 8.8 Diff Rebuild kit/RP fluid (new) Moser 8.8 axles (used) 4 lug A-arms (used) QA1 Coil overs w/spring (needs rebuilding-NAAKE $160ish) Stock Rear springs (used) UPR Bump Steer Kit (NIB) ordered WED before hitting wall UPR 8.8 Solid Bushings (NIB) ordered WED before hitting wall TRE Performance Fuel Pump/stock tank (FP new and will give you the tank) Pony/ET Streets (used) SC Saleen (2) 17x10 (4)17x9-USED; 4 lug black faced, polished lip. 10s have 275s on there that can be used for a few miles, fronts are gone. This all can be had for $3k; I have over $3700 in those parts, doesnt include the nick nack stuff that can be had below if you wanted to just take the whole car as a roller and I only have to pull the motor/trans out you would get: Cobra R hood painted RED Fbody fans/radiator/hoses to mate to LS swap decent 4cyl blue/grey interior 5" tach/Oil Pressure/Water temp gauge in center vent decent front fender and doors all glass in good shape brand new battery radio and speakers sub frame connectors welded in fuel lines with filter/reg set up 7.5 rear with 3.73s and I dont know what else probably could let all that go for another $500. If you want the Cooks built TH350 and Cameron's '3500' Nitrous stall we can discuss that too. its a long tailshaft and i am using the stock mustang DS with it. This set up would be FAST, if you care, it went 7.5 @ 95 2nd pass ever with a 1.77 and it was tapping the rev limiter on each shift in 3600' DA, if you believe in weather making a huge difference (I do) then with more seat time and better air this car could go LOW 7s if not 6.9s on motor and the motor is not fancy at all. Junkyard 6.0, Livernois Stage 3 heads with FAST 90/Accufab 90, TSP Torquer 2 cam. it was spinning so I know there is more in the 60'. discuss if you want.....

How much were you looking for for the K-member and the rear?

Lets see if someone bites on the whole thing, I know there are a few people looking at doing a swap and this would be a kit and kaboodle deal. but if i do not get interest I will let you know.

ROTFLMBO...
FWIW, you never did list a "come n git it as it sit" price. that sounds like a good collection of parts.

Come get it as it sits for $7k, help me bleed brakes again and you can drive it home.
*edit* Really though I am thinking $6k and me not touch it, would help strap it to the trailer if you asked nicely. I know that's ALOT of coin and it makes me sick....my spreadsheet say $6840 after buying/sellng parts from all kinds of stuff. its not an all inclusive list but it has the bulk of the stuff.

Hit the wall

I will keep a watch of this thread. If someone doesnt snatch up the whole thing there could be some parts I need later.

lots of crap is what I would guess.
car was still twitchy-had ordered the bump steer kit WED and went racing TH and I should have waited on them. And I dont think i have any leaks but it did get slightly out of the groove and I think I should have gotten out of the gas alot sooner. I just dont know....

this also will change the way you look at a few things...my boys were in the stands watching from the burnout box and got to see the whole thing and that's probably what shook me up the most...
the feeling you have when you are facing that concrete wall and knowing its going to really hurt.... I am sure others have hit the wall and not thought anything else about it but that's why I sold the silver Z28, rash of people hitting the wall and kid getting killed at Carolina that year just did it in for me.... call it what you wish but I got to look out for me and the family.... And I know, just like I defended it to Lori (wife), driving on the streets is almost more dangerous but still.....

I'm with you on that. My LT1 car walked up out of the groove at rockingham at almost 130mph on bias ply's and almost swapped ends on me. My wife and daughter were in the stands. It makes you really re-evaluate some things. For me, it was how stupid it was to be running that fast with no cage, no harness system, no neck support, no fire jacket, and FK Bias ply slicks! I didn't give it up, but I made some drastic changes for safety. |

old C10 with this motor would rock; sound good and not be too fast due to being 4300#s but respectable for an old truck....

I hope you get it worked out man. That motor in the old truck would be pretty sweet. Then again that motor in a black Z28 would work nicely as well.

Sucks that you hit the wall way out there. I haven't ever hit the wall and I can imagine it would make you take some stock. I have the six point in my car because I have always looked at it that the tech rules are there to help me survive in case the car gets out of sorts. Least you didn't hurt anything difficult to replace.
