E-5 Bah plus tuition paid, doesn't get much better than that, if you work part time you will make out pretty good and shouldn't have any student loans to deal with, make sure you file for the grants and maybe a few scholarships its free money since your tuition will be paid for.

Where are you planning on going? The Citadel has some great evening programs. I would be there now if I did not work nights. It's much better than this damn overly liberal C of C crap I deal with.

I'm looking at going to the citadel, what sucks is that I wanted to go for mechanical engineering but they don't offer that there, but I will figure something else out I guess, I couldn't do a school like c of c. I don't think I could handle all those kids that just got out of high school.

Adam, the way it was explained to me when I was getting my BS was that if you forgo your Montgomery GI Bill (if you paid into it) and chose to use your Post 911 GI Bill, you must forfeit your Montgomery GI Bill money.

Now depending on the degree you pursue, this may be fine. But if you are really considering an Engineering Degree, you might want to re-think that; especially if you are going to work full time and apply for Grants. By using both educational Bill's (MGI Bill followed with P911 Bill), you will not run short on money.

Yea I still have some more stuff to look into, I've heard about 10 different things from people on base about it, some say that when one runs out you can still use the other for a certain time after, I'm. Just going to sit down with them before I get out and figure out what would be best for me to do and I will go from there with it I guess

Adam one of my close friends is using every last penny of his to get as much schooling as possible, and he knows the ins and outs of it, gets a monthly allowance, etc. If you do want any help figuring out the best way to take advantage of all of it let me know and I can put you in touch with him.

I will probably get up with you on that, it seems the people that work for the va on base don't really know shit about it, you will hear 5 different things depending on who you talk to and I really want to make sure that I use it the right way and get as much as I can out of it.

The citadel is one of the top rated engineering schools in the south. Same for the school of business. Not to mention opens up hundreds of networking opportunities for you
