My transmission case has been leaking since i got my car back...It's leaking where the transbrake sol. screws in..It was loose and i tightned it about two turns...It was still leaking so i unscrewd it all the way and the case is actually broken..Its broken in three places in the threads...So i was wondering if overtightning it can break it...And also wanted to see if someone here has a ultrabell case to sell...

is that a pipe thread? if so, yes it would deffinately crack the case if overtightened, since it is pipe fittings are tapered.

Well its big thread yes.. It seals on the face of it though, has a teflon gasket,so i knew it goes all the way down...Idk if i craked it being it has been on my lift for months and leaking steady just sittin there...But this really sucks, cause if how now bought every peice of this car twice and have not made a pass yes...Only thing left that might break is the rearend..It was just rebuilt but so was the engine and tranny...lol

if it has a teflon gasket, im thinking its not a pipe thread. so it might have cracked from some other reason... good excuse to get an aftermarket case. lol

I know and bad thing is i dont know if i broke it or who did...I was leaking the whole time since i got it back, just sitting on the lift dripping...So i tried to tighten it first and i dont know if i broke it but it was still leaking just like it was when i finished...Thats when i found the cracks.......

looks like something hit the solenoid knocking it towards the 3 cracks.

Kinda what im thinking...It was put in once, then taken out and put back in so i wouldnt know where it happened...I have redone The brake lines,Brakes, nitrous wiring, and had to build a new bottom end and now the transmission with this build and have not made one pass...It really sucks but i have learned my lesson on where i have to take my stuff. This is why i built a shop at my house..If i cant fix it i will hire the right people to come here and do it from now on...

Naw,the best way i see out is to use a new glide case machined for a jw ultrabell and a roller tailshaft..I will be ordering the stuff tommorow..It has all the good internals so hopefully it can just be put in another case...I think im gonna take it up to rpm and have it built there...They said if i bring all the parts they can have it ready that day...
