Default ? about modding a 03 cobra

Messing around with a close to stock cobra and need some direction. Cars got a upper pully,Intake,Bassini X and catback, shifter, clutch, and a boost a pump for some reason. Cars tuned and the sheet says it made 480whp. Cars quick but needs alittle more. Thinking about porting the eaton and gettin a 4lb lower and maybe a 75shot. Thoughts? I figure if I port the blower and change the lower ill be out of fuel correct? Also will the car need a retune? Nitrous?

The stock injectors are probably very close to max duty cycle already. I think with the boost a pump the pumps will be maxed around 550. With the extra boost + nitrous you are going to need both injector and pumps. Are you sure it isnt already ported? It must have a very small upper like 2.76 or close to make 480 on the stock blower. I know i picked up about 50+ hp from a port and retune by Randy and made 475 but the injectors were close to maxed out and i had a 2.9 upper only. With a good port and tune alot of guys are seeing around 525 to the wheels on boost alone, with the nitrous it will probably easily make over 600+ tq. Before you go any further i would address the fuel system and give yourself some head room.

I either had a dud or you have a beast. I had a Lethal port, 4lb lower/2.8 upper, 60lb injectors at 17lbs making 476/481. After modding mine over and over you need to think where you want to be in the long run and don't waste money. Honestly, skip the port and get a twin screw even if you have to save for it. Get some injectors, skip the boostapump and do a fuel system like I did for about 500 or go all out if you plan on having over 650rwhp. Ask your questions on SVTP also as you will get many more opinions on the matter. -Shane

port the heaton, put a bigger heat exchanger on it, if ford GT pumps will fit get a pair of those and maybe modded FPDM's if people still do that. a 2.76 upper and a 6lb lower seems to be the limit that most people will go... then again i remember when a 2.76 upper alone was insane to some people...

also, i believe badmire68's cobra made 500whp with a stock unported eaton.

For about 500 you can get a 2nd FPDM, two pumps and upgraded wiring from a vendor on SVTP. Installed two 340lph pumps in mine with the kit.

i think 2 things on this, 1 sometimes the tuner holds back some power so your car will be safer for the street 2 dynos are all over the place some high some low in the end it is just a tool and as long as you go back to the same one for a baseline it all works out. my 2 cents anyway

I have 3 gss342 pumps whenever you are looking to upgrade pumps. Maybe 2-3k miles on them.
