Cal-tracs question

Anyone running a set of cal-tracs bars on their truck?
Did you notice a difference in handling? not just from launch.
Easy to install?
Do you feel it was worth the cost?

I might be looking for a set soon, after I lower the daily. I would like it to handle like the red truck, but without air-ride. And of course don't want to sacrifice "corner carving". I know its a damn truck. But hey, I can wish right.

Ive got them and have been running them for about 1.5 years.

It stiffened up my rear end a little. My 60' isnt as good as some others but I dont see you drag racing anytime soon in the daily. You might also considere a panhard bar and beefed up swaybars if they are available for the daily.

I am looking at doing the lowering leaf packs in the rear, beefed up sway bar and was eyeing some cla-tracs for some handling, especially for alittle striaght line acceleration (not drag racing yet). Would love for it to handle the shitty charleston roads better. Just wondering if it would benefit to get one or not.

Is the vehicle stock ride height now? You can always look into a Hotchkis TVS.

I am not sure they even have a TVS kit for a 90's blazer. However, he can get the individual components for various vendors/ebay/craigslist and make his own.

Right now it is stock height... I plan on lowering it 3/3 or 3/4 here very soon.

I have been eyeing the HOTCHKIS sway bars for the front and rear (like the extreme/zq8 setup) for handling.

btw, this truck is a daily/work truck. I just want it to handle and be able to tow a little trailer. Keep that in mind also.

OK. another question, has anybody had any experience with Competition engineering SLIDE-A-Links?

I am stuck between Slide a links, cal -tracs and a set that a guy makes/fabs (s-10 community). All 3 people are raving about, but of course you do that with parts you currently have.

If you have cal-tracs installed can you take a pic of how they mount up? thank you.

look on caltracs site. I have seen (not in person) the design duplicated. You can do a search on performancetrucks.net and search for caltracs to see duplicates and pictures. Again, they prevent axle wrap, thus preventing wheelhop. They will also stiffen ride quality in they are preloaded.

stiffen ride quality is fine. They should help with launching right? Maybe help cut 60 ft's down on a leafspring truck?

Even though I have never had them I love the design of the slide a links. Just seems smarter to me. On a side note. I have made a set of traction aids for a freind before and they did work well. Seems like a saw the idea in a mag but not sure. Its been a while. Anyway they were basicly just clamps halfway
down on the front part of the leafs. It only works on multi leafs. What this does is keep the leafs from sliding fowards and backwards against each other.
so they cannot wrap-up in the front. The only problem with it is that it makes the truck ride a little ruff. Because it makes the rear of the leaf do all of the work.
