Pull it and swap the rods, I bet it would hold up just fine and cost under 600$ to get it done.

If I only knew what I know now, I woulda done that and beat the piss out of it. I could have done it in 3 days.

Cheap MMR rods
ARP 2000's
Felpro head gaskets
And new Clivette bearings.
Under 600$ and never touch the main's

Cheap insurance.

When I pull it, if I don't blow it before hand, I will be spending more then that. It's got 110k miles on it and I will feel more comfortable if I got the whole block machined and took some off the cylinders, got the heads worked some. All this might be coming over this summer if I can baby it for another 6 months!!!!

Hopefully there will be two of us doing a build this summer(ish). I'm just waiting on a fairly big check from work that I'm told will be here any day now. Then I just have to wait and see what the results are for the new Trick Flow heads.

I'm looking to start traveling again early this year and with the first couple months on the road I should have enough money saved up to do everything I need to do and pay off some loans I have out right now!!! The thing I'm worried about is the amount of time I am going to be on the road next year, I may only be home for the weekends every other week, and I won't be able to do a whole hell'ofa lot on the truck, with having to spend "SOME" time with the family while I AM home.

Whenever I do start on it I will be planning on it being down almost a full year, , but it will be worth it when it's all said and done. I've always wanted the truck to be sonic blue too, but I don't know if I can convince myself of having the same color as you!!!! I really don't like the race strips, they have to go but I haven't decided on the final color yet. Just something else that will get done while she is down.

Well if you have luck like Mike, your better off building the 600$ block than a 10k block................. It's cheaper when you blow it up, and it don't hurt as much.
