Default Which tach? In dash or regular

Planning on putting a 5 inch tach in the pod that sits on top of the dash in a FOX. I got the pod used from a friend.. Do I need an indash mount tach? OR a non indash that comes with the strap and mounting bracket?

I believe you need an in dash. An external mount tach will still work, though-you may just need to get a little creative. When I redid the dash in my old '85 in all Autometer, I used a Monster Tach that I had already, and mounted it in dash. Just had to get creative with brackets and clamps.

I've done the 85-86 gauge thing before.

Right now im shooting for Tach, boost and fuel pressure in the gauge pod on top of the dash. Speedo, fuel level, volts in the stock cluster location. Oil pressure, water temp in the A pillar. AFR, Trans temp in the a/c vent mounting panel... Got my Summit wish list already done up. I already have the boost, fuel pressure and fuel level gauges from other projects and stuff and its still going to cost me $575 bucks plus a blank mounting panel from Florida50 or McMachine...
