Default Dorchester Drag Strip

Well I finally got the Buick to the track, I think it was the second weekend that it was open this year. I had not had the GN to the track in like forever. Nothing to brag about, trying to tune it actually. I found another 70hp to the wheels after this particular weekend, while tuning on Power Zones Dyno. It had been running Pig Rich. Best run at Dorchester was a 7.4 @ 97.5 with a lackluster 1.7 60' time. I was running 25# of Boost on 93 octane while spraying Methanol. Don't know how much better that 70hp would have helped my times though (any guesses?)....I was hoping for at least high 6's. Well the bad news is that I spun a freaking bearing two weeks later, (one week after my Dyno Tuning secession) . I'm Going to send the whole engine to Weber Racing and have them build me one of their Stroker Motors.....sounds funny "Stroker" V-6...... But it will be 259ci instead of 231ci. Supposed to be able to run high 9's in the quarter.....I'll be happy with mid 10's. Anywho.....getting ready to move into a house my wife and I bought in Tramway in Summerville...then the VA is going to "REDO" my total knee replacement that they fvcked up last June.........not looking forward to that. Well that's about it............broke my GN, getting a house......and VA's trying to kill me with this damn knee. Hopefully I'll have a new engine to put back into the GN when I'm able to walk again..........hopefully by the end of Summer................if VA does not kill me!

nice times. If you can get your 60' down, You should be very close to a high 6 second pass.

70 hp added to a 97 mph pass and i would say you already have a mid 10 second 1/4 car.

nice numbers

You'll be right down the road from me... If you need anything while your recovering from knee surgery give me a call. I'm only in Carriage Lane.

Also if you need someone to take care of the GN I know my 17 y/o would beat on her good for ya.. I mean take good care of it.

Thanks...................We will be living at 108 Hopper Drive.............I never even let my own kids drive it, afraid they would hurt themselves or others, as they were used to driving something with the power to weight ratio of of a cow maybe...............kinda like a Geo Metro

Nice GN. You should be happy with the motor you get from Weber Racing.

Thank You......have you heard good things about Weber Racing? I talked with Brian Weber, seemed like a good guy and supposedly their 259ci V-6's are pretty stout pieces....see the link below. I'm just going to ship the whole engine and have them port match everything and maybe port out my GN1 Aluminum Heads a bit more..............this is my plan anyways...hopefully everything goes as planned. I have to have everything right for me to be able to compete with you V8 fella's, especially when you have forced induction or when you are shooting NOS. In many cases I can't compete............my pockets are not that deep.......................

LOL..........I'm happy that I'll have a two car garage, I'll be able to pull an engine inside. Bout time I got my own place, my dumb a$$ has spent about 80 to 90K renting since I got out of the Army in 93. Now at least my mortgage payment will be less than my rent payment (if only a few bucks less).......which road are you talking about???

I have and that's why I purchased my forged shortblock for my Camaro from them.

Rose Drive. The long one you drive down before you turn into your neighborhood. The one that is bumpy as shit in the turn.

Well now that I got over happy with the Boost, it will be a while till I see what she will do.......Actually I've had crappy oil pressure for awhile now, changed out the oil pump, but made no difference. I think that when this short block was last rebuilt (5K ago) the machinist must have thought it was a Chevy block, as the bearing clearances are not as tight as a GN's. This is a common problem with these little GN engines, gotta have someone to machine them that knows about them........or everything winds up oil starved and bearing spun. See the clip below, this is what it sounds like now....even worse when it is cold.
