Can I get some comments on how good the service is? I have Verizon now, but played with an iPhone all weekend and now I have to have one. Only thing I am worried about is the coverage. Verizon has been great in that department.

Service area is the one place I think ATT is lacking compared to verison and the bill also. Be prepared to pay considerably more to use an Iphone. Whit my verison phone I could use it in my work building but cant even get one bar with ATT. There are also a few other spots where the signal get week but its not a huge deal. If you are in an area that verison doesnt have very good coverage or any at all you can bet the bank that ATT wont either.
But the Iphone does rock. |

Have you tried an Itouch as a compromise?
Dave and Jeff use an ITouch, and still use their Verizon Storms. |

i have att and am fairly happy. no coverage in cross and none in some concrete/metal commercial buildings, which is typical. i wish3g coverage was over a larger area. i do not have an iphone so i can not comment on its fees. i do surf and have no problem on the net like right now

I have a Storm now with Verizon, so the fees are not going to be anymore than what I already pay. I don't want to do the iTouch deal because I don't want to have to carry 2 devices. I live on my phone between work and personal, about 3000-4000 minutes a month and 500-750 text, and a ton of email. The iPhone beats the shit out of the Storm for all these things, not to mention all the other cool features. The only hold up is the service. I have zero service problems with Verizon. I was playing with an iPhone at the track in Virginia this weekend sitting in the Mickey Thompson trailer and the iPhone had no signal and my Verizon had all but one bar. I went outside the trailer and the iPhone had a bar or two and my Verizon phone stayed the same.
MAN!! I wish AT&T had better service! |

Your best bet is to get an Iphone and try it out (I think you get up to 30 days to change your mind). I would talk to a sales rep and see what they say if you turn out to not be happy with the service.

I might do that. I can just keep my Verizon phone and go get an iPhone with it's own number, and if i decide to make the switch i can just port my number over then. |

I hear through the grape vine that Apple's agreement to be exclusive with AT&T is almost over, and they are going to release the phone for other markets. Not sure when though..

Also, have you looked at the Samsung Omnia with Verizon. It is suppose to be the equivalent to the IPhone. Guy at my work has one and loves it.

Harry there is no equivalent to the iphone .
I think you will see an Iphone for Verizon in the next year . I've thought about switching over so many times then I remember sometimes at work the guy sitting next to me on the train can't get a signal and mine works fine . Plus like Hal said with the lack of 3G everywhere the data speeds really suck !

I have AT&T and coverage in my garage and driveway is inconistant. I do not live far from I-26 in Summervilleso this should not be a problem but it is. I also do not have 3g in my area and doubt it will be available anytime soon. I've thought many times about switching carriers but i have 4 phnes that expirer at different times.
