IP Address Trace

Does anyone on here have the ability to trace an IP address off of another forum?

I can, Im sure mike can as well, but we would need an IP. If it's a proxy, then no way.

Yeah, I don't have the IP. I have no idea how that works. I wasn't sure if some people had the ability to go to a post in a thread and find the IP and then trace it.

Only mod's can. For the most part people who can do it with out being a mod are too lazy to bother.

And the only reason I can think of to need someone's ip addy is for shen's or forum drama, both of which are silly reasons.

True, then it becomes a police/fbi type thing. Of which, can be handled by said law enforcement. Or hire a P/I.

which than usually is more than what is owed. I have found out when someone owes you money and you get the law involved NOTHING EVER COMES OUT OF IT

Very true. Maybe a P/I would be best route. Because forum owner's/mod's would seriously have to be mentally retarded to give out IP addy's to anyone for any reason.

Liability would be the reason not to give that info out.
