Bottom radiator hose is leaking
When I was doing the trans lines today I notice my bottom radiator hose has a slight leak where it meets the radiator. It must have just started because I'm under my truck a lot and haven't ever noticed it and I never leave any puddles when I park it. I thought that maybe the clamp wasn't positioned right, but that didn't fix it. Then I moved the clamp back a little and added a worm-gear clamp along with it and that helped a little, but it's still leaking. I'm not sure if the hose is leaking or if there's a crack in the radiator itself. I'm going to get to the bottom of it soon. I was just wondering, if I have to replace the hose, how much do they run and where would be the best place to get it? It looks like it would be pretty expensive since it has all the other hoses branched off of it.
Also, I just flushed the radiator a few days ago and can't help but think that maybe has something to do with it leaking. I don't know how, but it didn't leak before I flushed it. |

Well, I inspected it today and it's not the lower radiator hose that's leaking. It's the lower trans line fitting that's directly above it. I don't know why it just started leaking, but I can't help but think that maybe it has something to do with the line upgrade I just did. Maybe I tweaked it a little when I was messing with the lines... How would I go about fixing this? I checked and it's as tight as I can get it. The only thing I can figure is that maybe the o-ring inside is bad. Any ideas???

Is it leaking coolant or trans fluid? I'm guessing its leaking coolant from your 1st post.
You could disconnect the trans line and tighten down on the fitting. I just swapped radiators and the new radiator had the wrong trans line fittings. I ended up swapping them. It's a huge socket something like 26-27mm. Also you need a special tool to disconnect the trans line quick disconnect. Here is where I got mine. http://www.otctools.com/products/detail.php?id=1751 |

The reason I said "what" is because I posted above that I figured out it wasn't the radiator hose that's bad. It's the trans line fitting. So when he said that the Auto Parts store has it for $40, I don't know if he means the radiator hose or the trans fitting...
