Default Top Dog start in March

hopefully the nasty weather is behind us and we will try to kick off the TD races in March.

on March first, i will start a post " top dog callouts" everone just post your callout in the same thread. you will only be calling out a spot. if your in the top 10 you can only call out 3 spots ahead. past that 8 spots. the callout list thread will last for 7 days. then a schedule of races will be posted.

I would also like to try something, If a car drives to the track, he can make another callout after the races finish whether he won or lost his callout race. this will give guys a chance to leapfrog a good amount. you will need to prove you drove the car buy taking pictures along the way with landmarks in the pic(such as weigh station on 26) also in the pic, obviously your dash and that days newspaper.

BIG HEMI will be in charge of the rules and he may make a post about the rules. He doesnt know really anyone here so he can be fair to everyone.

Whaler, hopefully will run the show at the track

Hopefully this works out pretty good and we can have a good time. i dont think the races will take long so if we get there early, we can run a good amount of times before we even start the TD races

If it does then I'm out. I don't have drag radials either, I only have slicks. So I guess either way I'm out

The pic of the dash and the newspaper sounds like a pain in the ass. You would think that we would notice if our challenger drove in the gate or on a trailer.

Alright fellas...I updated the rules. I was unaware of just how many of you are running slicks when you're at the track, so no more tire rule.

Changed the muffler rule for the turbo guys.

well my car is alot more docile then yours, i would have no problem doing it or having a co pilot do it but with a radical car like yours, i understand your situation

Rule 6 for me (passenger seat is gone in my car with no plans on putting it back in), if that can be overlooked, I'm still in, if not, you will need to remove me as well.

come on chillerman, you cant put a seat in your car? i can understand tires because they cost $400 but a seat? its supposed to be a street car thing because everyone was complaining about race cars now everyone has a race car. i would like to see you on the list

look, my car has exhaust that goes all the way out the back bumper, i have cutouts on my car and it is faster when i open the cutouts but i'm not allowed according to the rules but you dont hear me whining about it guys. lets just meet the rules that have already been changed twice and go have some fun

I took the seat out for weight reduction. Car still has tags & insurance. It's a trailer queen with slicks on it. I still have a stock 302 that only makes decent power on the spray. We have been trying to get it to run in the 6's before the 408 goes in. This will most likely be the last year I keep tags on it since it is evolving into a race car. I'm not whining about the rules, just a pain in the ass to get the seat out of the attic and put it in the car. If that's how it has to be, we can comply, as we do want to compete, just don't want to slow the car down.

my daily will be the blazer when its fixed and i only had one seat in it and drove it 30 miles one way each day to work. I think the whole thing is getting complicated and in the end the RACE CARS will be on the top anyway. It's all for fun and people are getting their panties in a wad over trivial BS. Next you'll hear people bitching because they need stips.

I also think the deal with trailer vs no trailer is BS. I trailer in case I break. my truck has broken every trip to the track. who's paying the towing? Who's putting my truck on their trailer so I can get home? See no one but me. So I plan to trailer to save a towing bill. It's for economical reasons because my truck definitely isn't fast enough to warrant it.

If someone doesn't have a trailer to use its not my fault.

he isnt saying you have to drive it. but if ya do he wants proof that you did the whole way and not unload it right before the race. and you get extra points for it. ill trailer mine also if i plan to shoot it. ya never know what might happen

I just disagree with the extra points for driving to the track. But I'm not losing sleep over it. I already know I'm definitely not the fastest or even in the top half. So its all for fun and a few days at the track.

the reasons for the extra callout is for guys like you guys that probably wont get the Top Dog spot but can add more wins by driving to the track.

lets say, one of the faster cars cant make it one month and drops far down the list, he can drive his junk to the track and pick up 16 spots in one month if he wins both races.

IF anyone that lives real far, lets say 1iron wants to drive to the track, he is more than welcome to unload his car at my house and i would love to cruise right along next to him to bowman.

You can make all the rules in the world but someone is still going to gripe and complain about something. Since this is intended to be a "street car" orientated event, here are my suggestion to help solve some of the BS before it starts.

Simply run it like nmra/nmca or similar street car shootout series. In place of the 30 mile cruise have everyone meet up at the college park rest area unload and drive to dorchester (only 20 miles) And i edited the tire rule to allow slicks at the track.

http://www.mapquest.com/maps?1c=Dorc...n_US:M::/bl:/e
