Default Should I go 4.3/5speed or 350/700r4?

Which motor should I go with in the s-10? Not looking for tire tooting 1.2 60foot, high hp monster. Just something with more power/grunt than I have in the tutu turtle. Both would be Fuel injected of course. No carb for me.

350. No replacement for displacement. Probably more aftermarket conversions, of course the V-6 stuff could probably be found in the junkyard. 350 motors are usually very inexpensive, plus you'll love the torque.

Yea, I have mixed ideas though. I would love to go 350 with fuel injection on top. But I found a hellavu a deal on a 4.3/5spd.
Hell 350 5speed is what I might try to get.

Seriously......it's a good engine for the S10. Lots of guys have swapped them in. I guess it comes down to $$$. It's not the cheapest way to go.

As far as the penis implant........I went with a 383. What's that tell ya?

I have read (no experience on this one) that an LS1 fitment is different of an LT1 in the engine bay. Is there really any difference with overall size or just BS

I can't tell ya if there is any diff between the two. I do know there have been a bunch of them (LS1's) swapped in. I can get find a few links for you if you're interested.

Also Sean Baker (used to have a red LT1 Z28) is currently doing the swap in a Sonoma so you could check it out locally too.

Problem I have jay is that I am bagged on 18's. I do have tubular upper/lower control arms. Mind you the computer is about to be continued moving under the dash, the firewall is alittle smoother. Etc etc. If there is no size difference between ls1 and lt1 than I know it can be done. Plus I currently have 5spd setup (hydraulic) I do not have ABS (proportioning valve instead with 4wheel disc brakes)

That is the room I am working with. That is the passenger side of course. Custom headers will most likely be needed I am sure. [/img]
