Talking ORANGEBURG freaky friday -- flooky friday'

well this friday was a total waste of my time and my money'''
orangeburg dragstrip use to be one of the best tracks in the state'
but this friday was a mess first''' they charged $20 to get in for a friday night race''' they couldnt get the races to run on time and dragged around between bracket rounds'' and my god''' the cost of the food'' you think you were at a NASCAR race'' $3.00 for a hotdog'' are you kidding me' and $5.00 for a hamburger. Traveling vendors need to charge high to cover their gasoline costs, but there is no reason to charge that much at a fixed site. WOW'' TALK ABOUT A RIP OFF '''
Buddy Boozer built a super wonder track but the people running it now dont have a brain in there heads on how to run a track ''''
next time i,ll drive the 80 mile ride to ware shoals or pageland or go back to bowman the next week there open - mr ronald could show these guys how to run a track cause he runs a must better track ' HANDS DOWN '''
i hope more of you feel the same way and will show how you were treated this friday if you were as unlucky as i was to end up at orangeburg this friday'

I think the weather scared a bunch of people off. It was raining all day in the Charleston area. The track was working pretty good. I know tuten's car was haulin @SS. Tony Bynes about ripped his bumper off when he raced the Boogieman car.

All tracks have over priced food except Bowman. I try to eat before I go. You can damn near go to Applebee's for the same price.

the turnout sucked and the entry fee was stupid for the 10 cars that were there, but the track seemed to be working really good.

$3 for a hot dog and $5 for a hamburger isn't that bad. I remember paying $8 for three chicken fingers and fries combo at Carolina. Bowman's prices are close to orangeburgs for the food so I do not see a valid complaint. then $20 to race isn't a bad fee either. seems to be inline with all the local tracks.

Like I said. It Rained in most of Sc half the day many people aren't coming out. Even if there wasn't any cars or not the stands were empty because of the above mention reason. Was Bowman even open?

Not sure if you knew or not, but last night was Freaky Friday at Orangeburg Dragstrip. The track was rented out.

And how much is it going to cost you in fuel to go down to Savannah? lets figure that into your gate fee. I bet its more than $5.

Bowman was closed due to the days weather.

Don't forget these guys are trying to run a business. I'm sure insurance, maintenance, security, and etc...

They need to make money so I can deal with $5 for a burger, so long as its family friendly and the track is hooking. I know it's been awhile but wasn't food at Lowcountry over priced? But the atmosphere and especially the crowd made up for it IMO.

if you look at the number of people working, the number of hours they are open, and the amount of paid attendees, you can see that $20 per car is not making much money.

it costs a LOT of money to do anything now. I did not mind buying the food at Bowman, because making a bit off food, helps them stay open.

they have to make a dollar, or else they close. just like lowcountry did.

i feel your pain (i am cheeeeeep) but it is...what it is...

I've only been to Dorchester out here so I don't have much experience. But back in Los Angeles, California Speedway only had street legal days once a month (some months not at all) and it is $20 and over 500 cars would show up which means spending a whole Saturday to get 3 maybe 4 runs in. So far the tracks out here seem to be a much better deal.
