Put some axles in a neon for a friend today, stage 3 SRT-4, quick little car, but won't hook for SHIT! We went for a ride after with me driving, and man, what a pain in the ass to drive. Car is so strong it won't hook even rolling in 3rd, but you can tell the power is there.
He left my house same time as I did and we wound up doing a few quick pulls with the TBSS, which has not been beat on until now after the new motor and trans/converter/headers install so not sure on how it really runs. I DESTROYED him from a dig to 45 (speed limit), but of course he called me and wanted to "roll-race." Got on interstate and did 40-70 pull, and i put a 1/2 car on him. Guess the point of the post is that I thought they were supposed to be "fast" stock, this one has all kinds of mods, and isn't really fast. I know the TBSS isn't fast by any means, but I really assumed this thing would take me down big time. Anybody know of a way to get these things to hook up? ForceFed? |

It's certainly "fast" but not nearly as fast as it would be if it would hook up.
An Matt, not that I am a pro, but it was more car than driver for sure. Think it might have something to do with the fact he's running primewell tires, lol! |

Well I've done all the bolt ons I can do short of a fender well Intake which in charleston is prob a bad idea.
Generally full weight 3ss (leather Bose etc) is about mid 12s to high 12s AWD. But problem is they all are really different. Some are factory freaks and some are just slow, so I don't know. I did one Gtech pro run today and it said 0-60 in 4.2 and 1/4 in 12.83. So I don't really know. Never been on the track with any vehicle, guess it's time to see. |

I thought yall were saying the neon lost because of driver error. Maybe the tbss is just quicker?

Lookin forward to it. Swap mine out and you can borrow it, lol. Gerald built it, I'm sure it will hold. Love it.
My truck is quick compared to most I've encountered recently, but has been nothing special really yet. I just love that my almost 5000 pound truck that I DD does what it does. So fun to drive. |
