I can't see the vid/pics b/c I'm at work, but this reminds me of the time I missed a cow by about 6 feet in the shutdown area at Darlington...at night. Not cool.

Yepper, a damn cow. The field on the pit side of the track usually has cows in it. They used to get out and onto the track grounds every now and then b/c the fence was in bad shape. I think they've fixed the fence b/c it's been years since I saw one out down there.

I was in the left lane, slowing down, turned on my headlights right where the tree line meets the guardrail in the shutdown area, and there's a full grown cow standing there staring at me. That cow was the first thing I saw when I turned on my headlights. Couldn't have been more than 6 feet from the side of my car. I was probably doing close to 100 mph when I passed it. Scared the hell out of me! As I was turning around I heard the next pair of cars on the way down and I'm thinking damn it's gonna be ugly if someone hits that cow!!! So I hauled ass to the ticket booth and told Crystal to get on the radio ASAP and tell em to stop the next pair. Noone hit it, Brian came down and ran it back into the pasture w/ the 4 wheeler.
Thank God it didn't get scared and run back across in front of me.

That's crazy! Good thing they got it under control. Something like a cow would do major damage.

A guy I went to high school with hit a friggin horse on I-26 in an astro van back in the mid 90's......killed him dead instantly. The van did not appear to be an Astro van after that accident.

My father hit a 600 pound domestic pig on Wadmalaw Island one morning in the fog in an old F-150. Damn near killed him.

I couldn't imagine what a 2000 pound cow would do. Damn.
