What do you guys think?
Probably going to have to relocate the battery to run a filter.
Got to finish fabing the down pipe, and finish tying into existing cold pipe system. Hopefully will have it finished tonight.

Finished making the down pipe has a 5" to 3.5" transition, into the existing 3.5" pipe. Got all the oiling flanges installed on the turbo and the return/feed line run. Think I am done for the night got to wrap the exhaust tomorrow to hide my ugly flux core welds. Also need to trim the silicone 90 that goes into the throttle body as its only about 1/8" away from the downpipe.

More pics of the progress not bad for a nights work time to hit the shower and go to bed and start again first thing in the morning.

Im far from a turbo expert so excuse my question if its silly but that isnt a major flow restriction on the hot side down pipe?

Looks good but the proximity of your DP to the intake scares me. You planning on running any meth right before the TB?

You are correct but im guessing he is space limited. Ive never seen a 5" necked down to 3.5 but its got to work. Id add a backpressure gauge to your hotside just to check it. I dont know how big the motor is but it could end up being a problem up top once you start pushing the setup.

IRT turbo is the company I bought this guy from and they said the minimum was 3.5" the car has a cutout and the bottom of the 90 and in order to run a bigger down pipe I will have to run it out the fender or get a turbo K member. Not saying its not a possibility later but for now this will work, and should be better than the little T4.

No doubt it would be better to run a 4 or 5" though.

Those pipes will be wrapped and the charge pipe stuff is all loose now there. Once I trim the Throttle body 90 silcone and tighten it up it will be about 3/4 " away. Its tight but I just dont have any more clearance so insulation is going to be key. Already have it just got to get it done.

You are very correct on the space limitation eventually Ill change out the K member and get enough space to run a bigger down pipe. This is just a starting point. Wasnt planning on stepping to a larger turbo until next year but the T4 started letting go.

Motor is a forged 6.0
