Default Busted Brakeline

Thankful I found it while changing an O2 today vs finding out Friday going into T1 at Roebling.

Looks like purely age related. No rub or anything really scary.

Nice try Birdman, but Miker won't fail for that. Nice trick making it look age related!

Rubber line I assume? I've never seen a steel brake line that wasn't rusty bust.

on my cutlass, the brake hoses went 27 years before one went bad from age. it failed internally and held the caliper closed. took out the pads and rotor.

if the hose busted, it may have been stressed in that area causing a weak spot or something i would think?

It is a SSbraid Russell line installed in like 2008.

Wasn't pissing fluid yet but the outer casing was dryrot/hard and coming off. Inner braid was getting chewed up by dirt inside the outer casing.

They saw some abuse; on the stock brakes I burned off 1250F temp indicating paint from rotors and 750F from the calipers.
