Well, found one in Commifornia. Being shipped next week. 1967 2 door hard top GT with the 273 V8. Body work and paint done, needs interior. Car is in great shape, I'll try and get pics up soon.

My dad will be back in town for July 4th and will be surprised with the car. He has said for 10 years he was looking for one but would never commit. So my mom, sister, and I, threw down to get it for him. Should be a pretty good surprise.

We all decided (without him of course), that a project that involved a lot of body work would not be very good for him now, as he's only home 4 or 5 weeks a year. So a project that only needs the motor swap and an interior is perfect.

Guess we'll be building a 340 here soon.

Thanks for all the help guys.

Not just father's day. It's my parents' 40th anniversary June 30th, his 60th b-day Aug 30th, and father's day rolled into one.

But, yeah, should be pretty awesome. I'm excited, except for I have to drive the car with a big bow on it out to their house, lol.

Well the car is here. I went and checked it out as it was coming off the transport trailer and met my mom there.

She is currently driving the car back to Wadmalaw. She called to complain about the lack of power steering and power brakes, lol.

Overall it's in good shape. I found one small spot in the trunk with some surface rust, will have to wire brush/treat/paint that ASAP before the SC air gets to it too bad. Sounds good and runs pretty strong for a wimpy little 273 V8.

Guess it's time to start hunting motor parts. Anyone have a 340 block layin around?

The guy that bought the old '66 barracuda drag car (The Carolina Cuda) from Charleston supposedly has a LOT of 340 parts. Don't know the guy's name, but I know he's from Charleston. Might want to try and get in touch w/ him. The only 340 I have is the matching numbers engine to the '71 Demon I'm restoring.

Just took her for a little cruise. What a feeling. First time in a long time I've been in a classic just cruising. It really does make everything slow down, nothing even matters when driving that thing.

Runs great, the little 273 is pretty strong, but he will certainly want more power. The brakes need some work, I thought it was just lack of power brakes, but something isn't right. That will be first on the list.

Super happy with the car though. It needs some work, some trim needs to be put on, and the interior needs to be done, but overall it's in great shape.
