I have a few questions in regards to setup. I was looking a going with a positive displacement blower. However, I do not think my drivetrain is ideal for it. I am running a decent sized converter and 4.10 gears. Without replacing these, I may go with a procharger. But before I do, I want to see what the L community is doing.
1. How much stall are you running on a street/strip trim? 2. What gear ratios are you running? 3. What is a comfortable combination for street/strip? |

That is what I figured the Lightning were running. What are the WOT shift points of a stock cam L?

pretty sure the PI cams run out at 5800.

Stock shift is around 52-5,300 RPM. The fuel shut off happens around 5,500. Even the Comp and Crower cammed setups are usually shifting between 5,500 an 6,000. I'm sure there are exceptions. 4.6 motors rev a bit higher.

go with the procharger. It is pretty much the best designed supercharger out there. It will also be easier to tune and wont create as much heat. I run a centrifugal paxton NOVI 2000 on my truck and love it. this is the way to go if you don't have an intercooler as well. Also my truck came stock with 4.10's

actually it doesn't make a difference really. he doesn't have a gen2 lightning right because he wouldn't put a centrifugal on a gen2 when it comes with a roots style(positive displacement). both my truck and his doesn't come with superchargers from the factory. I went the centrifugal route (NOVI 2000). I have 4.10's and a 2600 stall. I think it doesn't make a difference.

I do have a Silverado. It has a 6.0 (364 cu in) 10.1 compression motor. The maggie 122hh would be a good fit. However, the starting price is 6400ish without the required 90mm throttlebody and tune. Also, I would need to buy a wire harness for the 78 to 90mm conversion along with pinning the crank. Before you know it, your are at 7,000 beans.
I have always like the idea of a D1SC blowing through an intake elbow/vic jr setup.

i'm just screwin with you thats why lol. I couldn't care less if your farm truck is faster then my cars, its commendable when it is by every means though.
