Has anyone dealt with this company??
I sent in some specs & this guy called jay the cam master says he wants payment before he gives me the specs on the camshaft. All i wanted to know is advertised duration, duration @ .050 & lift. He said he wanted payment before he would give me his recommendation of specs on my application. Well i told him to FU-K himself, that i was not going to pay for a product without knowing the specs. I have a damm good idea of what i wanted, but this guy would not budge. Just wondered if anyone has dealt with him before. Bill Last edited by wsa111; 11-01-2008 at 05:29 PM. |

Jay Allen is one of the best when it comes to custom cam shafts . I know 2 guys locally who use him and the cam he cut for them made come major power over a anderson cam . Tons of people use him and you're the only one I've ever read anything negative over .
And ofcourse he would want payment before disclosing " custom " specs . He wants to get paid for his knowledge . I mean how easy would it be to take the same specs and get them cut from someone cheaper . I plan on getting a cam from him in the near future and honestly have no problem paying . Tons of fast cars can't be wrong .

i have to agree with jeff- a real deal camshaft guy isn't going to tell you shit unless you pay him.
try this one- i paid ProLine alot of money for a motor and they won't tell me the specs on the cam. The motor that was in the Trans Am was a Fulton motor and he would not give the specs either. Find a camshaft company that you believe in and pay them to do their thing. |

Ill be looking to get an actual "turbo" cam in the near future. I have read good things about CI and have been leaning towards them for a while. Read up in Hardcore50.com alot of guys use his cams. Chris

He is very good. But he's a dickhead.. I've talked to him personally a few times and was not impressed. Talk with Ed Curtis, another excellent cam guru who still wont disclose custom cam stuff (can't blame either one of them) but he doesnt have near the ego / attitude problems Jay Allen does.

I think that CI is the place that Jason at Performance CNC got my cam from for the LTD. It was either them or Cam Motion. My Bennett Racing cam in the 408, has no specs either, all ground off. They did however give me the centerline info for degreeing purposes....
