Default Question about gears vs stall?

I am sure they both take about the same time to install.

But does one have a better advantage over the other?
As I understand, you can lose mpg with gears, but not with stall?

Any advice, questions.

And yes, for my g8.

Gas mileage, and depending on rpm vs HP/tq level, tire, a stall could be more effective in lowering ET's.

If possible, you can also change gear by tiresize vs swapping ring and pinion.

I did a little research on them before. I would just put a stall in it. Everybody thinks the 2.92 rear gear is to low but the A6 has a 4:03 first gear. which helps you get going. Before you waste money on a stall get a REAL TUNE. You will see more gain with a tune than a stall. They can even tune the dod to stay on a lot longer for better mpg and still tune it for killer WOT hp numbers. PM electech and see if he will tune it. If not JR Racing in Greenville has done one with cam exhaust intake with almost 440 rwhp running 8.0 in an 1/8. JR has fi experience

Also, since you are running a procharger, a converter will get you into boost better.

Thanks for info guys.

I am unsure which to get, because I dont exactly intend on racing it all the time. So I guess even then, a stall would win. Since it isnt used all the time.

hrmmmm, guess it will be something to think about come tax season :O

get a custom converter from Mr cameron in Columbia. Gears not always will lower mpgs'. I can think of many cars with a higher numerical gear change has actually gotten BETTER mpg.
