Is anyone interested in cruising to Michelin Saturday morning? The GTOs are heading out around 3am (Summerville exit on 26 most likely). If you wanna drive up with us just shoot me a PM and I will shoot you my cell number.

It was pretty fun. So glad I drove up the night before and stayed in a hotel, though.

Looks like fun. I would get lost on one of those courses.

Cameras make it look like a sea of cones, but it's nowhere near as confusing when you are driving.
It's not hard to make a clean run without hitting cones, but it's hard to do it while going full tilt. Quote:
Personally, if I were you, I would just run F-stock if everything else you have done is within the class. While a steering rack is an advantage, you are still at a huge disadvantage if you are running street tires in a stock class (r-comps). GTOs can handle (especially on a big course), but SCR is notorious for their small courses. If I owned a GTO, I would keep it in F-stock. That's it's place. Just like why I didn't like running A-stock..that's the S2000's playground. Every car has it's niche. Looking at the results, your times would have had good competition in F-stock. http://www.scsportscar.com/content/a...501&Report=fin No one really cares at a local/regional level about minor mods. Now..if you have a power adder, wider tires than you are allowed, crazy suspension (per the class) and you are beating everyone up by several seconds--while being a dick about it...yeah...you might get protested. Only at the Divisional/National level will someone white-glove your car and nitpick. At the national level..the competitiveness is retarded. Like drag racers, every loophole is exploited. People buy and sell the "hot car" for each season, shave their street tires down to 2/32", use "fixed" oem dampners to circumvent the "OEM spring rates only" rules, drill out the strut bolt holes to get more camber, etc. Crazy..but the cars with the most money in them are usually "stock class" cars. Either way I get a trophy at the end of the year and have fun. The reason I started in SM is I plan on some mods half way into the season so I wanted to pick one class that I would be able to run all year.
