Hi there. I'm glad I've sparked your interest.
The $150 fee is for the Friday, Nov 5 - Mgr. Track's Lapping Day. And the minimum requirement to participate in that is you must have been signed off as a solo with a recognized group. We do not accept novices. However, the weekend event is $260 for the two days at Roebling and we accept anything that is safe for the track. (In other words, no leakers!) It doesn't matter your experience level, we have room for all levels. If you have any questions at all - feel free to contact me. We try to be hospitable - we have a Friday night social at our host hotel while the tech guys are teching cars outside... and Saturday night we do a BBQ of some sort. Always surprises... And thank you Slowleen for posting. Hope to see y'all at the track! |

<--- Interested.
Having not been to Roebling, how fast of a track is it? Meaning, are there a lot of long straights and tight corners, is it tight and technical, or is it a mid-speed/sweeping corner sort of place. I would definately like to come out, I just need to know if I need to upgrade my brakes and tires first; or just replace them after.

well i'd fall into the novice group im sure...not enough lap times under my belt to even convince myself otherwise...plus i'd much rather run out there for a while with an instructor who can teach/show me things and point out all the crap im doing wrong lol.

It has been called the fastest track in the Southeast by many a racer. It has (when driving cars) 9 turns. The tightest would be Turn 5 - the one that if you are going to spin out - it is normally right there...
Unlike other tracks there is plenty of runoff. The only cement wall is the one that separates the track from the pit row... The way we work this is - we start folks off in the Green run group. There they get classroom instruction and an instructor with them for every session they run in the event. The average driver spends three weekends in Green, followed by three weekends in Blue - and then they are watched to see if they are ready to be solo. We are a "safety for all, not the fun of one," so we aren't so quick to let some one fly on their own - unless they are safe. If you really look at this sport, there is danger involved, but we do our best to keep it minimal. We also make it a social event. I've watched some of the best friendships be born and bonded at the track. The camaraderie goes along way. As for it's location, it's in the town of Bloomingdale - just North of Pooler. (Things may be better in Metter but they are cooler in Pooler...) which is just a little Northwest of Savannah, Georgia... Easy to get to - and we use the Hawthorn Suites as our host hotel - near the Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport. (Wow that's a mouthful.) |

Having an instructor ride along would be a good thing, even with some experience. It's always good to have someone 'in the know' show you the line.

Shouldn't that say "A guy I knew slid his father's Diablo..."?
I know if I did something like that to my dad's car, I would not live to see the next day.
