Wow! 3,424 horsepower out of 1,704 cubic inches of diesel!

A lot of those old Detroit diesels are 2 strokes. 4 exhaust valves per cylinder with the injector right in the middle of them. The air gets pushed into the cylinders when the piston is down enough to clear the ports in the cylinder wall. The air comes from the airbox which is pressurized by the blowers.

Too bad none of the big 3 will put a 2 stroke diesel into a 1 ton truck. I'd get one in heartbeat.
