Default 4l60 wont move in any gear

I drove my trans am from goose creek to beaufort then when i got to work i was playing a little and took off quick then the car revved up instead of going and now wont move in any gear. I hear a whine noise coming from the back of the engine. Pump? Convertor? any ideas? Im gonna pull a line to the trans cooler tomorrow to see if anything comes out and hopefully see if it is the pump or not.

Broke the pump. Common on 4l60e.

I'm sure one of the trans guys can chime in with the best answer but me personally, I'd have the converter cut open, inspected and clean just to be safe.

Ya I think that would be a good idea. Matt told me awhile back that Cameron rebuilt his converter, anyone have his number or his name on here?

After researching this more I feel like its the converter. MonteC is going through the trans this week but do you guys think it could actually be the torque converter that is the problem? when it finally broke it felt like the trans was slipping a bit when first put in drive( not anytime after that). I would put it in drive and felt like something was spinning and didnt engage into gear until about 5 seconds later. So when I got back to work I stomped on the gas after it engaged and it gave up. It would just rev up in any gear and not move at all. Id like to know because I have a torque converter lined up but wont be around for long. Is there any way to tell if the converter is bad when its out other than cutting it open? I dont really have time to drive up to columbia to get it rebuilt. Thanks in advanced.

No way to tell without opening it up that I'm aware of. If you don't feel confident in the converter replace it before you put the trans back in.....Has he found anything wrong or broke in your transmission?
