X2 I guess. Glocks function well, I had one that worked flawlessly but sold to Bad Bob... I just didnt like the grip angle.

Lol, I know some people don't like them but I've shot a lot of guns I was looking at for a potential carry and I liked this one the best out of the ones I could afford. Plus I can get free parts and ammo through my father-in-law so works for me lol.

I heard trader world rumor that the .40 wasn't going to happen. It was going to be 9mm or .45, but don't hold me to that. I have the XD .45 and love it. I had even heard where some police departments was getting away from .40 to go to the .45, I think that is what North Charleston PD is doing. But that is hear say.

I may have to just settle and get the .45. Haven't shot one though so will do that first. I had an XD-M .40 compact and loved it but it was too big for CC.

I own the 45 and have shot the 9. I carry the 45 daily in a N8 squared professional IWB holster. The 9 is the exact same size, as the 40 will be as well. EXCELLENT CC weapon. Small, powerful, and easy to shoot.
Only advantage I see to the 9mm is the capacity, 7+1 compared to 5+1 on the .45. Should have taken a pic, but compared this weekend with my cousin's XD 9mm subcompact, and the XDS was NOTICEABLY thinner and lighter. Didn't measure, but I'd imagine it's every bit of 3/16" thinner than the SC. |

The only thing I'd want to get is a pinky-extension magazine. Not an extended mag, but just an extension off the bottom for the pinky..
But first I need to turn in my CWP application that has been sitting on my desk for almost 3 years lol.

Congrats on the new shooter. Those baby Glocks shoot deceptively well for their size. In the warmer months, I'll shoot my G26 in IDPA and I am not far behind the speed I run with my 1911. The main thing that slows me down is the reloads. The baby Glock magazine is rather clumsy handling in my big hands for fast reloading vs. a full size magazine.
If anyone is considering a magazine extension for the baby Glocks, check out GAP Enterprises. They don't actually make an extension per se, but rather an extended lip flush floorplate that hooks under your ring finger for a stable hold. This way, the grip isn't any longer than stock. If you resort to putting an actual pinky extension on a baby Glock magazine, you might as well have gotten a G19 mid size instead given the grip length you'll end up with. The extended lip helps tremendously for a fast draw since you don't have to worry about your hand slipping off the bottom of the short grip. For those that can't stand the grip angle of a Glock, keep in mind that the 3 general sizes of pistols that Glock offers all point different. The mid size and full size both point muzzle high for me with the corresponding slide rub across the web of my hand. The baby frame size is the only one that points just like my 1911s do and the slide won't rub me.

I ordered the mic holster. Friend has it and I liked it a lot. Minimalist and easy to use.
