If you TRUELY want it to be a "street car" shootout then make all of the cars run on a street radial and then none of the other rules will matter. It is easy to tech, and keeps all the race cars out. Do not allow a 15" drag radial or any slick, just a street radial. You will not have to worry about number of power adders, and the rest of it- they are only going to go SO fast on a real street radial.

I don't have a muffler, unless a turbo is considered a muffler.
I think a current registration and insurance card should be enough. I run BFG drag radials on the street myself. Granted they don't hook worth a damn, but they are street legal. Most street cars use larger than 15" rims. I have 18" on the rear for my street setup. But my drag rims are 15" with et drags. |

The only sucess I have seen at any street car shootout was years ago when low country was still open. But it was for real sreet cars andthey had huge turnouts. Its not like now where everyone just puts drag radials on a racecar and enters. |

my a/c isn't hooked up and mine is a slow heavy daily driver suv not a race truck.
When they are saying NO DR's and street "grandma style" radial only I would assume it means NO DRAG RADIAL's period.... We go through this debate on what's a DR whenever rules say NO DR's and dot approved tires only... And this is in a street tire class. ![]() Why not just follow the NHRA rules for the "True Street Class"

Wes, your idea is good, except that will probably bring some accidents...IMO...
This is the "Street Car/Truck" rules I see: 1. RADIAL TIRE, and yes, that means NO ET Streets. They are a DOT slick but not a radial. FRONT AND BACK. 2. Proof of CURRENT insurance and registration. 3. At least a 15 mile cruise with all participants entered in the race. 4. No open headers, but I dont see a problem with a straight through style full exhaust. 5. Helmet for all participants. 6. Roll cage points do not matter. Who cares if it has a funny car cage....thats just for safety, let em run. 7. And one thing that I would say, that everyone on here is gonna cry about, would be PUMP GAS. At least leaded fuel anyway. So 100 octane from sunoco would be ok, but not the 110 at the USA place in GC. 8. Blinkers, headlights, brake lights, and functional glass windows. and last but not least, any 5/6 speed car gets 2 and the wiggle from the rest of the competition. haha

Yall are making it harder than what it is, IF you have a power adder of anysort (supercharger, turbo , gas, meth....... ) i dont care if it came from the factory or not it needs to be in the power adder class,
everything else BRANDON hit it on the head
